WRV DPF Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda WRV diesel owner is experiencing reduced engine power and excessive smoke, suspecting a diesel particulate filter (DPF) issue. The problem is characterized by a noticeable decrease in performance and increased smoke during acceleration. A similar case confirmed the DPF as the cause, suggesting a diagnostic check to confirm and address the issue before it worsens.

Interesting. I was wondering about a sensor. The engine light is on now, but the smoke and power loss came first. Was it definitely the DPF for you, and how did you confirm?

Yep, it was the DPF alright. The workshop confirmed it with a diagnostic check. Best get yours checked out soon before it causes more issues. Cost me around 1550€ to replace.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be heading to the workshop. Appreciate the confirmation; knowing someone else had the same issue helps.

I had similar symptoms on my WRV, though I didn't see any engine light at first. Fuel efficiency also took a hit. Did you notice any changes in the exhaust system? Could be a sensor fault related to the diesel filter.
