WRV start stop issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda WRV diesel is experiencing issues with its start-stop system, including unexpected engine shut-offs and warning lights. A similar problem was resolved by replacing a heavily discharged or defective battery, as the start-stop system relies on a healthy battery for proper function. The suggested solution is to have the battery tested and replaced if necessary, which successfully resolved the issue in this case.

Okay, thanks! How did you figure out it was the battery? And how much did it cost you to fix?

I took it to a workshop to get it checked. They confirmed the battery was the issue. Considering your symptoms, especially the error message and unexpected engine shut-offs, a battery issue seems very plausible. The repair, including a new battery, cost me around 290€. It might be a good idea to get your battery tested by a professional.

I own a Honda WRV with the same engine. I had a similar problem with the idle stop, and in my case, it was due to a heavily discharged or defective battery. The start-stop system, also sometimes called 'idle stop', relies on a healthy battery to restart the engine quickly and reliably. The error memory you mention probably refers to a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) stored in the car's computer, indicating a fault in the system.
