X Klasse electrical gremlins

Has anyone else experienced odd electrical issues in their X Klasse? My 2018 X Klasse diesel is showing sporadic error messages. Driving mode errors appear randomly, and sometimes warning signals illuminate for no reason. The audio and navigation systems seem particularly unreliable, sometimes cutting out completely. I've even had the control units become unresponsive a couple of times. A scan tool shows errors stored in the memory but nothing concrete. I'm getting a bit frustrated.

I had similar craziness with my X Klasse. System failure was a regular event for a while. Check the cable connection to the BUS system – sounds like a defective connection. Isolate the unit with the diagnostic tool

The cable connection to the BUS system? Can you be more specific? Which control unit's connection caused the problem? Engine diagnostics didn't point to a specific location

Yes, BUS system cable. No, engine diagnostics won't pinpoint it. Honestly, tracing it yourself is a pain. Just take it in for service to fix the connection issue. Trust me, save yourself the headache.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was a bad cable connection to the BUS system, like you said. They fixed it for 155€. Hopefully, that's the end of that. Thanks!

Hello. My 2012 C-Class is slow to receive the signal to the instrument panel; the RPM clock doesn't work. It gives me two error codes, C14687 and U0155. It says it's something in the CAN bus. Could someone suggest something? Thanks.

Start by checking the fuses related to the instrument panel and CAN bus system to ensure none are blown. A faulty fuse can disrupt communication and cause the issues you're experiencing. If the fuses are intact, inspect the wiring and connections to the instrument cluster for any signs of damage or loose connections. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
