XC40 Audio System Failure

My 2011 Volvo XC40, gasoline engine, has a complete audio system failure at 136032 km. There is no audio output. All functions appear operational, but there's no sound from any source—radio, USB, or Bluetooth. Volume control does nothing. I'm thinking it might be the bass speaker.

That’s frustrating! Sounds like a total sound blackout. My old car had a similar problem once. A wire had shaken loose behind the head unit. Have you checked the audio system fuses? Does it happen with all audio sources, or just one?

The failure affects all audio sources. About the fuses, do you know the specific fuse numbers for the audio system in the Volvo XC40?

Right, sorry, missed that it was all sources. My bad! The Volvo's fuse layout is like a cryptic puzzle. Tracing it yourself is a pain. Since it's a total audio loss, and you suspect the bass speaker, I'd get it checked by a workshop. Could save you hours and potential electrical problems.

Thanks for the input. The workshop found a defective bass speaker, like I thought. The repair cost 280€.
