XC40 Brake Light Issue

Faulty brake light switch maybe? It's a common electrical issue on cars. Does it happen every time you brake, or just sometimes?

How would user error cause the light to stay on?

Sometimes pressing the brake pedal too hard or resting your foot on it can damage the switch over time. Best to get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks, turned out to be the brake light switch as you suggested. They reset it, no charge!
