XC40 Check Engine Light Air Valve Suspected
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Volvo XC40 is experiencing a check engine light, suspected to be related to an air valve issue. The initial checks on the air intake and throttle body showed no problems. A suggestion was made to inspect the hose connection from the pump to the valve, as a similar issue was resolved by replacing a loose or defective hose. The owner plans to have this specific hose checked at a workshop.

Interesting! You mean the small hose running near the intake? Was it visibly cracked or something?

Yeah, that's the one. Mine wasn't cracked, but it was loose and seemed defective. I just got it changed in the workshop, it's a pretty common issue they said.

Thanks a bunch! I'll take it to the shop and have them check that hose specifically. They said it was the hose connection from the pump to the valve. Cost me 175€, not too bad. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my XC40, though I have a different engine. Have you checked the hose connection from the pump to the valve? That was my issue.
