XC40 electric steering column malfunction

I've got a head-scratcher with my 2020 Volvo XC40 hybrid. The electric steering column adjustment has gone kaput. Error memory's flagging it, and I can no longer adjust the steering column electronically. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable or plug connection, judging by some poking around I've done. Anyone else seen this gremlin?

I had a similar issue with my XC40. Does it feel like something is just... disconnected? Like the motor wants to move, but can't engage? Maybe I can help

Exactly! It feels totally disconnected, like the button does nothing at all. Did you manage to diagnose it yourself or did it have to go in for professional help?

Unfortunately, I had to bite the bullet and take it to the workshop. Although I'm fairly handy, messing with steering components felt like a recipe for disaster. They sorted it quickly enough, thankfully.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but your experience confirms my suspicions. I'll get it booked in. Turns out it was a defective cable, cost me 95€, all in. Cheers!
