XC40 Keyless Entry Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Volvo XC40 electric owner experienced a failure in the keyless entry system, accompanied by a 'key battery low' warning and an error message. The issue was suspected to be due to a dead key fob battery. A similar case was resolved by replacing the battery and re-syncing the key at a workshop, which restored the keyless entry functionality.

No starting issues so far, just the keyless entry and the error message. Did replacing the battery fix it for you, or was it something more serious?

Replacing the battery didn't work, unfortunately. I ended up having to take it to the workshop. They ran some diagnostics, re-synced the key, and replaced the battery anyway. Cost me about 40€, and it's been fine since.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'll be heading to the shop then. Just got it back, new battery and resync, 37€ and works a charm again.

Yep, had the same thing happen with my XC40. Keyless entry just stopped working one day. Did you also notice it struggling to start the car sometimes, like it wasn't properly detecting the key?
