Sounds exactly like what happened to me. I messed around with it a bit but eventually took it to a shop. They said it was a dodgy connection in the steering wheel and sorted it out pretty quickly, thankfully.

Cheers. Appreciate the confirmation. It ended up being a faulty cable in the wheel, just like you said. 95€ later and it's fixed.
