XC40 Outside Temperature Sensor Issue

My 2020 Volvo XC40 hybrid with 25125 km is storing an error about the outside temperature sensor. The AC doesn't switch on, the spray nozzles freeze, and the mirror heating is inactive. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I've got an XC40, and I had a similar issue last winter. AC acting up, nozzles freezing… did your temperature gauge also go haywire?

Thank you for your reply. I confirm that the temperature gauge is not working as expected. Was the root cause of your problem also a defective cable or plug connection?

Honestly, I didn't dig too deep myself. Just took it to the workshop. But yeah, from what they said, it was something simple like that. A loose connection or corroded wire. I'd get it checked out; could save you a headache.

I appreciate your assistance. Following your advice, I visited the workshop, and indeed, the issue was a defective cable connection to the temperature sensor. The repair cost 95€. Now, the temperature monitoring is operational, and the air conditioning system is functioning correctly.
