Thanks for the quick reply! I didn't scrutinize the gel pad before. Now that you mention it, I see some minuscule anomalies beneath the surface. What was your experience? Did replacing the sensor fix it, or were there other problems?

The anomalies are almost certainly the problem. I had to go to the workshop. They replaced the sensor and the gel pad. It's a straightforward fix. I'd recommend getting it checked soon to prevent electrical issues.

Thanks! I'll schedule a workshop appointment. It seems the gel pad delamination is the cause. The repair was 62€, worth it to avoid the aggravation. Thanks again!

I have an XC40 as well, and your description sounds familiar. My rain sensor went haywire a while back with similar symptoms. Did you notice any degradation or discoloration of the gel pad before the errors?
