Summary of the thread
A 2018 Volvo XC60 diesel owner experienced a non-start issue due to an empty AdBlue tank and suspected a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. The problem was identified as a faulty AdBlue pump. After replacing the pump, the car resumed normal operation.

Fuel efficiency seems normal to me. Could it still be a blocked catalyst, even without loss of power or excessive fuel consumption?

The pump is used to provide the reductant to the catalyst so, yes that could still be the cause. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out.

Thanks for the tip. Turns out the AdBlue pump was faulty, just as suspected. Repair cost me 250€. Now the car is running like new again.

Sounds like your SCR catalyst is choked. Is it possible the fuel efficiency decreased recently? Faulty AdBlue can make the engine light come on, like a Christmas tree.
