XC60 Bumper Antenna Electrical Issues

I'm having strange electrical issues with my 2013 Volvo XC60, gasoline engine, with 201291 km on the clock. It seems related to the bumper antenna. I'm getting an error stored, and the remote unlocking/locking is completely unreliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I can't start the engine unless the key is physically in the ignition. It sounds like the cable or plug connection of the antenna might be defective. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts before I start tearing things apart?

I had a similar problem with my XC60. Same symptoms. Definitely sounds like the antenna. Did you check the antenna mount for corrosion?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the antenna mount for corrosion yet, but I will now. Where exactly is the antenna located, and is it easy to access? Any tips on what to look for besides obvious corrosion?

It's behind the bumper, not too hard to get to. Corrosion is the big thing, but also check the connector itself. I ended up just taking it to a workshop. Cost me 95€ to get the antenna replaced.

Appreciate the confirmation. Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order. I'll report back once it's sorted.
