XC60 Central Locking Failure

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2009 Volvo XC60 diesel. The central locking has stopped working completely. I can no longer lock or unlock the doors using the key fob or the button inside. The car's computer has also stored an error related to it. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my XC60. It sounds like the electrics. Have you checked the door wiring harness where it passes from the car body into the door? These can sometimes get damaged over time, like a kinked garden hose, causing connection problems.

Thanks for the suggestion! Where exactly should I be looking for the wiring harness? Is it easy to get to, or do I need to take the door panel apart?

The wiring harness is behind the door panel. While it is possible to access it yourself, it may be more expedient to take your vehicle to a trusted workshop. The fault codes should point them in the right direction; likely it is a defective cable or plug connection, and the repair should come in around 95€. They should be able to diagnose it quickly.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on – it was a faulty connection in the door wiring. They fixed it for a reasonable price. Appreciate the help!
