XC60 engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Volvo XC60 diesel experienced engine power loss, sluggish acceleration, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The issue was suspected to be a faulty manifold pressure sensor, possibly due to a vacuum leak. A similar problem was resolved by replacing the manifold pressure sensor, which restored the vehicle's performance.

Yes, exactly! It does feel like I'm constantly fighting against something, like the parking brake is partially engaged. And the engine response is definitely sluggish. What exactly was the issue with yours?

Yep, it was the manifold pressure sensor for me too. The garage said it was likely due to a large vacuum leakage somewhere. I'd get it checked out by a professional. It's probably a sensor replacement.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to a workshop, and it was indeed the manifold pressure sensor. Replaced it, and the car is running perfectly again. Total cost was 235€.

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen in my XC60. Reduced power and the light were the first signs. Does it feel like you are driving with the parking brake on? Is the engine response generally sluggish?
