XC60 Engine Running Lean
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Volvo XC60 is experiencing reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, and jerking during acceleration, with an OBD scan indicating the engine is running lean. The issue persists despite checking for intake manifold leaks and cleaning the mass air flow sensor. A similar problem was resolved by replacing a faulty fuel injector, suggesting this could be the underlying cause. It is recommended to have a professional inspect the fuel injectors to address the issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick response! It seems to happen mostly when the engine is warm, actually. When it's cold, it runs a bit rough but not nearly as bad as when it's warmed up. Does that sound familiar? Did you ever figure out what exactly was causing the problem?

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what mine was doing. It ended up being a faulty fuel injector. I tried a few things myself, but honestly, I just took it to a workshop and let them sort it out. Best bet is probably to get it checked out by a professional.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I'll take it to the shop and have them take a look at the fuel injectors. The estimate came to 515€ for parts and labour. Hopefully that's all it is. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen with my XC60. Check engine light, rough running, and a loss of power. I didn't check the air-fuel ratio myself, but does it happen all the time, or just when the engine is cold?
