XC60 Engine Stalling at Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Volvo XC60 diesel experienced intermittent check engine light activation and occasional engine stalling at idle. The issue was suspected to be related to the fuel tank ventilation valve, possibly due to clogged hoses. Inspection revealed that the hoses connected to the tank ventilation valve were indeed clogged, causing ventilation issues. After cleaning the hoses, the engine performance returned to normal.

Thanks for the suggestion! Clogged hoses sounds plausible. I haven't checked the DTC codes yet. Where exactly are these hoses located, and is it a straightforward job to inspect them?

They're part of the EVAP system, near the fuel tank. It's doable to inspect, but access can be a pain without a lift. Honestly, if you're not comfortable, a workshop is your best bet. Faulty purge valve can trigger those symptoms, too.

Appreciate the confirmation! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on. The hoses were indeed clogged, causing the ventilation issues. They cleaned everything out, and the engine runs perfectly again. Total cost was 175€.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my XC60. Check the hoses connected to the tank ventilation valve; they're prone to getting clogged, especially with a bit of age on them. Any DTC codes?
