XC60 Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor Issue

I'm having some trouble with my 2015 Volvo XC60 diesel. It's done 183877 km. A warning light popped up, and I'm seeing smoke when accelerating. Also, it seems the DPF isn't regenerating. I'm suspecting the exhaust back pressure sensor. Any thoughts?

I had something similar with my XC60. Is the car running rough? Check the sensor connections, could be a loose wire. What kind of error code did you get?

It's not really running rough, just the smoke and the light. I haven't checked the error codes yet, I don't have a reader. Are you saying it was definitely the exhaust back pressure sensor for you?

Yeah, those were my symptoms too. It was the exhaust back pressure sensor. I'd suggest getting the error codes read to confirm, but it sounds like the same issue. Might be best to get it checked by a workshop.

Thanks for the info. I took it to the shop, and you were right, the exhaust back pressure sensor was defective. They replaced it, cost me 245€ all in. Problem solved!
