XC60 Gear Display and Cruise Issues

I had something similar happen on my XC60. Does the issue occur intermittently? A faulty clutch switch could definitely cause those symptoms, since it's a safety mechanism to prevent starting the car in gear or to disengage cruise control. The gear selection display might be related if the car's computer isn't getting the correct signals from the clutch position sensor.

Intermittent is spot on! It's not all the time, which makes it even more frustrating to diagnose. When you say 'similar', do you mean all those symptoms at once? Was it definitely the clutch switch, and if so, how did you figure that out?

Yes, all of those symptoms were happening to me too. The error code was the key. I recommend you go to the workshop to read out the errors and check the cable or plug connection of the component. In the end it was the clutch switch and the mechanic replaced it.
