XC60 Headlight Range Control Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Volvo XC60 is experiencing a headlight range control fault, indicated by a warning light and improper beam alignment. The issue may be caused by a malfunctioning servomotor within the headlight assembly. A suggested solution is to have the servomotor checked and potentially replaced at a workshop, as similar cases have been resolved this way.

Thanks! Are you saying the motor that adjusts the light intensity within the headlight unit itself can be the culprit? How did you confirm that and what was the fix? I want to understand before I take it to the workshop.

Yes, I am referring to the servomotor inside the headlight. I had the same error messages and warning lights. I went to the workshop, and they confirmed it was the servomotor. It needed replacement, and the job, including diagnostics, was around 1040€ I would suggest you do the same.

Thanks so much! I appreciate you confirming the servomotor issue. It helps me understand what to expect. I will take it to my local workshop and have them check the servomotors. Thanks again!

I have a similar Volvo XC60 and had comparable symptoms not long ago. The warning light was on and the beams pointed down. This is often due to the servomotor in the headlight assembly.
