XC60 Loud Exhaust Noise

I also own a XC60. I had something similar happen last year. Loud exhaust noise and a weird engine sound after starting. Did you check the flap actuator or the flap motor? Those were the culprits for me.

On mine, they were pretty tough to get to without a lift. Honestly, given your symptoms – especially the error code – and the fact that you haven't dealt with exhaust systems before, I'd say take it to a workshop. Could save you a lot of hassle. It will probably be a defective exhaust flap.

You were right. Took it to the shop, and it was indeed a defective exhaust flap. Cost me 190€ for the repair. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
