XC60 Oil Level Sensor Faulty

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2018 Volvo XC60 hybrid. I keep getting an "Oil level sensor faulty" error message on the speedometer, along with a warning light. It's also stored in the error memory, and occasionally the oil pressure warning lamp lights up. Could this be serious? The car has 112136 km on it.

I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series. Oil level sensor problems are common. First thing, have you checked the cable and plug connection to the sensor itself? A defective connection is often the culprit.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the oil level sensor located in the XC60? Is it something I can easily access myself, or is it buried deep?

On the BMW it was on the bottom of the oil pan, but I'm not sure about your Volvo. Unless you are experienced, it might be better to let a workshop check the sensor and cable. On the plus side, if it's just the cable, the repair shouldn't cost too much.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. The cable connection was faulty. Cost me 95€ to fix. Much appreciated!
