Thanks for the hint! No, I haven't checked the cable and plug connection yet. Where exactly should I be looking? Any tips for diagnosing a defective connection?

Well, in my case, after extensive sensor testing, the workshop found that the heater element circuit was indeed open due to a corroded connector. Given that you're seeing higher fuel consumption, I'd recommend having the sensor and its wiring checked by a professional.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to the workshop. They found a defective plug connection. Repair cost was 95€. Thanks again!

That's an interesting issue. I had something similar with my old BMW 3 Series. The check engine light was on, and the error memory indicated a problem with the oxygen sensor. Have you checked the cable and plug connection of the component? It could be a defective connection.
