XC60 Parking Heater Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Volvo XC60 owner experienced an issue where the parking heater wouldn't activate, accompanied by an error message. After checking the fuses and coolant levels, which were fine, a suggestion was made that the problem could be due to a defective glow plug in the auxiliary heater. This was confirmed by a workshop, resolving the issue.

Interesting! How did you figure out it was the glow plug? Was it difficult to diagnose? Any chance it could be a coolant leak somewhere affecting the heater or the climate control?

Well, I initially suspected a coolant issue myself, but the level was always stable. A friend of mine with more experience suggested the glow plug, so I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it pretty quickly. I'd recommend doing the same; could save you a lot of headache.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – glow plug was defective. Repair cost me around 440€. Appreciate the help!

Hey, I had something similar happen with my XC60. Not sure what year yours is, but it sounds like it could be the glow plug in the auxiliary heater. Had the same symptoms – no parking heater and an error code.
