XC60 reset quantity drift compensation issue

Anyone else had issues with 'reset quantity drift compensation' on a 2016 Volvo XC60 diesel? I'm getting rough engine running, CEL, and an error stored in the memory. Mileage is 22494 km. Suspect injector valve/injector issue.

Drift compensation relates to how the engine control unit (ECU) adapts fuel delivery to each injector over time, accounting for manufacturing differences and wear. A 'reset' usually means the ECU's learned values are being cleared, which could be masking an underlying injector problem. Is the error code specific to an injector, or more general? Did this start after any specific event, like fueling up at a new station?

Code is injector specific. Nothing out of the ordinary happened prior. Just showed up. Should I attempt any system reset or diagnostics myself?

If it's injector-specific, and you haven't done anything unusual, a reset is unlikely to solve it. The ECU is probably detecting a real problem. Continuing to drive with a defective injector can cause further damage. I would recommend having a workshop perform a diagnostic check and confirm the injector failure. Sadly, a replacement will likely be necessary. I had a similar issue on my older car and just the diagnostics cost me a pretty penny.

Understood. Appreciate the advice. Booking it in. Repair cost estimate is 515€. Will replace the injector.
