XC60 transmission control unit failure
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Volvo XC60 hybrid is experiencing transmission control unit failure symptoms, including unresponsive paddle shifters, unclean shifts with slippage and grinding, and a delay in gearbox response. The gearbox has entered emergency mode, and diagnostic scans show error codes pointing to the transmission control module. The suggested solution is to take the vehicle to a reputable workshop for confirmation and repair, as this issue is complex and likely costly to fix.

The error codes do seem to implicate the transmission control module directly. How did you resolve the issue, and was the repair cost in line with my estimate?

Yep, sounds identical. Honestly, I didn't mess with it myself. Too complex for me. I took it straight to a reputable shop, and they confirmed the bad control unit. Bite the bullet and get it checked out. Transmission issues are never cheap. Good luck!

I appreciate the confirmation that my experience aligns with a known issue. It seems a visit to a trusted workshop is the most prudent course of action. Your input has been invaluable in steeling myself for the inevitable expense. Thank you again for your assistance; I shall proceed accordingly.

Whoa, sounds rough! I have an XC60 too. I had similar symptoms a while back. No paddle shifter action, and the shifting was all kinds of messed up. Error codes galore! I'd bet money it's the same control unit thing. Did the errors point to the tranny?
