XC70 Bluetooth connection issue
Summary of the thread
The initial problem was a Bluetooth connection issue between a smartphone and a 2013 Volvo XC70, suspected to be a pairing problem. Possible causes discussed included a communication fault, a failing Bluetooth module, or a software problem. Suggested solutions involved resetting the system and checking for software updates. Ultimately, a shop visit revealed a software glitch affecting the Bluetooth module, which was resolved with a software re-flash.

I did try a system reset, but no luck. The system says the software is current. With that info, is a Bluetooth module fault still most likely, or could it be something else, like the fuel system, steering, brakes, or transmission?

Since the software is current and a reset didn't help, a hardware fault in the Bluetooth module is more likely. A deeper scan might show if other systems are throwing shadow codes that are affecting the communication. I'd suggest a shop visit.

Took it to a shop and they found a small software glitch affecting the Bluetooth module's communication. A software re-flash fixed it. Cost 45€. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a communication fault in the infotainment system. Before assuming it's just pairing, have you thought about a failing Bluetooth module or software problem? These Volvos can be sensitive. Have you tried resetting the software or seeing if there's a software revision on the Volvo site?
