XC70 Electronic Parking Brake Error

Anyone seen this before? My 2016 Volvo XC70 with a gasoline engine is throwing an electronic parking brake error. Handbrake is completely unresponsive, error's stored, and the warning light's on the dash. Suspect it's the motor in the caliper. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Volvo XC70 is experiencing an electronic parking brake error, with the handbrake unresponsive and a warning light on the dashboard. The suspected cause is a faulty motor in the brake caliper. A similar issue was resolved by checking for a voltage drop and replacing the defective motor, which was confirmed and repaired at a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

XC70 here, though I couldn't say what year without checking. Sounds suspiciously like what I had last year. Did you happen to measure any voltage drop at the calliper?

Voltage drop, you say? No, I didn't check that specifically. Was that definitely the problem you encountered? Anything else I should be looking at?

It was a contributing factor, yes, alongside a totally defunct motor. Honestly, with those symptoms, and if you aren't confident with electrics, wouldn't it be easier to just get it to a workshop?

Cheers. Workshop confirmed it, electric motor in the brake caliper. 505€. Ouch, but at least it's sorted.
