XC70 Electronic Parking Brake Error
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Volvo XC70 is experiencing an electronic parking brake error, with the handbrake unresponsive and a warning light on the dashboard. The suspected cause is a faulty motor in the brake caliper. A similar issue was resolved by checking for a voltage drop and replacing the defective motor, which was confirmed and repaired at a workshop.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Voltage drop, you say? No, I didn't check that specifically. Was that definitely the problem you encountered? Anything else I should be looking at?

It was a contributing factor, yes, alongside a totally defunct motor. Honestly, with those symptoms, and if you aren't confident with electrics, wouldn't it be easier to just get it to a workshop?

Cheers. Workshop confirmed it, electric motor in the brake caliper. 505€. Ouch, but at least it's sorted.

XC70 here, though I couldn't say what year without checking. Sounds suspiciously like what I had last year. Did you happen to measure any voltage drop at the calliper?
