XC70 emergency call system error

My 2007 XC70 with a gasoline engine has an emergency call system error. At 120942 km, I'm getting a persistent error message and warning light. Fuses are good, and I wiggled some wires, but the error is still there. Anyone seen this? I suspect a defective cable or plug, but I'm stuck. Any ideas before I pay for repairs?

Summary of the thread

I had something similar on my XC70. Constant warning lights related to the telematics system. Did you check the diagnostic codes?

Yes, the diagnostic scan pointed to a general system malfunction in the telematics unit. Did yours throw a similar code? Any specific cable or connection I should check?

Yeah, similar error. I couldn't figure it out myself. Ended up taking it to the workshop. They said it was a faulty connection. Best to get it checked professionally.

I took your suggestion and brought it in. It was indeed a corroded connector as the diagnostic suggested. Cost me 95€, but at least the warnings are gone! Thanks for sharing your experience; it saved me a lot of fruitless searching.
