That's interesting. No flickering lights that I've noticed, but the radio does occasionally cut out briefly. Was it a difficult repair on your Saab? Did you need a new ignition coil or starter motor?

It wasn't a coil or the starter motor. It was definitely the ignition switch. Given the symptoms, I'd advise getting it checked by a workshop. It's probably safest to get it professionally sorted.

Thank you for the insight! It turned out to be a faulty ignition switch fuse. Replacing it for 52€ seems to have solved the problem. I appreciate the help!

I had similar symptoms with my old Saab 9-5. The ignition switch itself was the culprit. Does your XC70 have any other electrical oddities when this happens, like the radio cutting out or the dashboard lights flickering?
