XC70 keyless access failure
Summary of the thread
The keyless access on a 2012 Volvo XC70 stopped working, and an error code appeared. The suspected cause is a bad cable or plug, possibly related to the door handle electronics. A suggested solution is to check the door actuator wiring harness for corrosion or damage, with a recommendation to have a workshop handle the inspection and repair due to the complexity of the electrics.

Thanks. Could you say where the wiring harness is and if I need special tools to check it?

The wiring harness is in the door, connected to the actuator. You can look, but a workshop is better because the electrics can be tricky. I had the same issue; they quoted me 95€ to fix it.

Thanks, I'll take it to a workshop for them to check it out.

I have a similar XC70. The door handle electronics are often the problem. Have you checked the door actuator wiring harness for corrosion or damage? That's usually it.
