XC70 Reduced Engine Power
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Volvo XC70 diesel is experiencing reduced engine power and an ECU error code, leading to suspicion of a defective main relay. Similar symptoms were resolved by replacing a faulty relay, suggesting this as a likely solution. It is recommended to have the vehicle checked by a workshop to confirm and address the issue.

It's pretty constant, unfortunately. I replaced the fuel filter recently, and the wiring looks okay, but you know how that goes. When you say "similar," was it the exact same symptoms? And what fixed it for you?

Yup, same symptoms: limp mode and ECU error. Turned out to be a faulty relay alright. I'd say bite the bullet and take it to a workshop, they'll know for sure. Cost me around 120€ including labor.

Thanks a lot for the insight! Sounds like that's the culprit. Will get it checked out and report back if it's indeed the main relay. Cheers!

Dude, I had something similar with my XC70! Is it intermittent or constant? For me, it felt like the engine was being choked. Did you check the usual suspects like fuel filter or any dodgy wiring?
