XC70 Reduced Engine Power

Hey, my 2009 Volvo XC70 diesel is throwing me some curveballs. I'm getting reduced engine power and a stored error code in the ECU. I'm suspecting a defective main relay but not 100% sure. Anyone seen this before?

Dude, I had something similar with my XC70! Is it intermittent or constant? For me, it felt like the engine was being choked. Did you check the usual suspects like fuel filter or any dodgy wiring?

It's pretty constant, unfortunately. I replaced the fuel filter recently, and the wiring looks okay, but you know how that goes. When you say "similar," was it the exact same symptoms? And what fixed it for you?

Yup, same symptoms: limp mode and ECU error. Turned out to be a faulty relay alright. I'd say bite the bullet and take it to a workshop, they'll know for sure. Cost me around 120€ including labor.

Thanks a lot for the insight! Sounds like that's the culprit. Will get it checked out and report back if it's indeed the main relay. Cheers!
