XC70 Terminal 15 Ignition Interruption
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Volvo XC70 is experiencing an issue where the engine fails to start, and the error memory indicates a fault with Terminal 15 ignition positive being interrupted. Preliminary diagnostics suggest a potential defect in the cable or plug connection. A similar problem was resolved by checking the starter solenoid and battery terminals, although a workshop visit was ultimately necessary for a permanent fix.

Thank you for the insights. When you experienced this, did the error message specifically mention 'Terminal 15'? And did cleaning the starter solenoid and battery terminals resolve the problem entirely, or was further intervention necessary?

Yes, it did mention Terminal 15, from what I remember. I tried cleaning the terminals, but it only helped temporarily. Ultimately, I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they sorted it out. Saved me a lot of frustration.

I appreciate you confirming that. Based on your experience, I will likely proceed with a workshop visit. The anticipated repair cost is approximately 95€, which seems reasonable. Thank you for sharing your insights and helping to clarify the situation.

Hey, I had something similar happen with my XC70, although I can't recall the exact year. Check your starter solenoid and battery terminals first. A bad connection there can cause all sorts of weird power supply issues. Have you checked for voltage drop across the ignition switch?
