XC70 Undervoltage Warnings

I'm having a strange issue with my 2015 Volvo XC70 with a gasoline engine. I'm getting undervoltage warnings and the car is starting poorly. Sometimes various systems seem to fail temporarily, and the lights flicker. The battery also seems weak when starting. Mileage is at 152037 km. Could this be a bad battery, or something more complicated? I've checked the battery terminals and they seem okay, no visible corrosion.

It sounds like it could be a voltage drop somewhere. Have you checked the charging system at all? Or maybe the power supply?

When you say charging system, what exactly did you check? Was it just the battery voltage or something else?

In my case it ended up being a heavily discharged battery. I'd suggest getting the battery properly tested. If it's not that, you might need to take it to a workshop to check for other electrical issues. I went through a lot of head-scratching before figuring it out!

I had the battery tested, and you were right – it was heavily discharged and defective. Replaced it for 290€ and everything seems to be working perfectly now.
