XC90 ABS Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Volvo XC90 is experiencing a speed signal fault, with the ABS lamp lighting up, traction problems, and ABS failure. The initial suspicion is a defective ABS control unit. After checking the ABS sensors and wiring, which appeared fine, a scan confirmed the issue as a faulty ABS control unit. The recommended solution is to replace the control unit, with a workshop visit advised for proper diagnosis and repair.

Thanks, I've already checked the ABS sensors and wiring. All seems fine there. Was your issue definitely a control unit problem, and do you know which one? Trying to narrow it down.

Yup, it was the ABS control unit. Honestly, diagnosis was a pain. Unless you have VIDA/DICE, I'd suggest getting it properly scanned. Saved me a headache in the long run. Workshop is probably your best bet.

Appreciate the insight. Confirmed with a scan; it's the ABS control unit as suspected. Quoted 1000€ for the repair. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I had similar ABS and traction issues with my XC90. Have you checked the ABS sensors and wiring? Could be a faulty connection somewhere.
