XC90 AUC Sensor Issue

My 2005 Volvo XC90 diesel's automatic recirculation (AUC) sensor seems dead, causing a non-functional blower motor. Diagnostics point to a defective cable or plug connection. Replacement might cost around 95€. Has anyone else encountered this with their XC90 or other models using a similar HVAC system?

I feel your pain. My XC90's blower motor went out similarly. Did you test the wiring to the AUC sensor? The fault was with that wire or the plug connection.

By tested, do you mean verifying continuity with a multimeter, or something more elaborate? How far did you go with diagnostics before deciding it was the sensor?

I booked a car service appointment. The mechanics checked the plug and said that was the problem. It was greasy. They cleaned it and told me to replace the AUC sensor. If the harness is damaged you should consider fixing that as well. Booking a car service appointment might be the best way to get it fixed.

Your shared experience helped! I inspected the AUC sensor connector and found corrosion. A cleaning and dielectric grease fixed it. The blower works now!
