XC90 Diesel Particulate Filter Issue

My 2019 Volvo XC90 diesel is giving me grief. Almost 230k kilometers on the clock. Lately, I've noticed a definite drop in engine power and some pretty noticeable smoke puffing out when I accelerate. Suspecting it's the diesel particulate filter, but haven't had a chance to get it properly diagnosed yet. Anyone else run into similar issues?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my XC90 a while back. Reduced power and smoke are classic signs. How's your fuel efficiency been? And has the engine light come on?

Fuel efficiency has taken a hit, yeah. Engine light's been on for a bit now. Did you ever get yours hooked up to a diagnostic machine? And if so, did it point to the DPF right away?

Yep, diagnostic confirmed it was the DPF. Bit of a costly fix if it's truly buggered, so definitely worth getting a proper vehicle inspection. Mine ended up needing a full filter replacement.

Cheers. Sounds like I'm heading for the same fate. Workshop confirmed it: knackered DPF. 1550€ for the privilege. Thanks for the heads-up!
