XC90 Headlight Range Control Fault

I'm hoping someone might have some insight into an issue I'm experiencing with my 2019 Volvo XC90 gasoline. I'm getting a 'Headlight Range Control Fault' error. The warning light is on, and the low beams seem to be shining way too low, or sometimes, way too high. Has anyone else encountered this? Is it something simple I might be overlooking?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Volvo XC90 owner experienced a 'Headlight Range Control Fault' error, with low beams shining inconsistently. The issue was identified as a defective servomotor affecting the headlight adjustment. The suggested solution was to have a professional workshop inspect and repair the lighting system, which resolved the problem.

I had something similar with my XC90. Was the light intensity also off, and the beam adjustment not working? Could be the servomotor.

The light intensity does seem off, yes. Servomotor, you say? Is that something relatively easy to check, or are we talking electrical connectors and a control module deep dive?

Sounds like the same issue. I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself. Take it to a workshop and have them check the lighting system.

Thanks for confirming. I feared as much. Took it in, and you were spot on – defective servomotor. 1040€ later, and all is well. Appreciate the help!
