XC90 Keyless Entry Failure
Summary of the thread
The keyless entry on the driver's door of a 2012 Volvo XC90 stopped working, with a scan revealing an error related to the door handle electronics. A possible cause suggested was a defective cable or plug connection to the door actuator, particularly in the wiring harness between the door and the body, which is a known failure point. The solution involved checking for broken wires or corroded connector pins, and a workshop visit confirmed a defective cable connection, which was repaired.

Thanks, I haven't checked the harness yet. Is that a common failure point on the XC90? Should I look for broken wires or a loose connection in the plug?

Yes, it is a known weakness. Check for both broken wires and corroded connector pins. If inaccessible, a workshop visit is recommended.

Thanks! I took it to a local workshop, and the cable connection was indeed defective, just like you said. The repair cost 95€.

Possible defective cable or plug connection to the door actuator. Have you checked the wiring harness that passes between the door and the body? These are known to fail.
