XC90 Lean Running Condition
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Volvo XC90 hybrid with 131,658 km is experiencing a lean running condition, characterized by reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, and jerking on acceleration. The initial suspicion was a bad injector. After considering other potential causes like spark plugs and the oxygen sensor, it was confirmed that the issue was indeed a faulty fuel injector. The problem was resolved by replacing the injector.

Thanks! I haven't checked the O2 sensor yet, but the spark plugs were replaced recently. Fuel economy has definitely taken a hit. Was it the O2 sensor in your case, or something else?

Mine ended up being fuel injectors. I didn't diagnose it myself, honestly. Just took it to a shop after eliminating a few simpler possibilities. Rough running and poor fuel economy were the giveaways. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a professional soon.

Appreciate the insight! Turns out it was indeed a faulty fuel injector. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had something similar on my XC90. Have you checked your spark plugs and the oxygen sensor? A bad 02 sensor can mess with the air-fuel ratio, leading to a lean condition. How's your fuel economy been lately?
