XC90 low brake fluid
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Volvo XC90 hybrid owner noticed low brake fluid levels and unusual brake pedal feedback. Despite no visible leaks, worn brakes were suspected due to the vehicle's high mileage. Another XC90 owner suggested that excessively worn brake pads could cause the fluid level to drop. The solution involved having a technician inspect the brakes, confirming that the front brakes were worn out and needed replacement.

No recent brake work, and I gave the lines a quick once-over but didn't see anything glaring. What was the resolution for your issue?

In my case, the brake pads were excessively worn, causing the fluid level to drop as the system compensated. It would be prudent to have a qualified technician perform a comprehensive brake inspection to ascertain the condition of all braking components.

Thanks for the info! I'll get it booked into the shop. Turns out the front brakes were indeed worn out, and the bill came to 480€. Appreciate the help!

I also own an XC90. I encountered a similar problem not too long ago. Was there any recent work done on your brakes? Have you inspected the brake lines themselves for any signs of damage?
