XC90 Oil Level Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Volvo XC90 diesel is experiencing an 'oil level sensor signal faulty' error, accompanied by a warning light on the dashboard and a brief flicker of the oil pressure light. The wiring and plug to the sensor have been checked, but the issue persists. A similar problem was resolved by replacing the oil level sensor, suggesting that professional diagnostics and potential sensor replacement might be necessary to fix the fault.

By checked do you mean tested the sensor with a multimeter or just visually inspected it? Trying to avoid throwing parts at it without proper diagnostics.

I just wiggled the wires a bit, which seemed to help temporarily. Ultimately, I took it to a shop who quoted 95€ to replace the sensor after confirming the wiring was fine, and it fixed the problem. Might be worth getting it checked out professionally.

Thanks for the info. I'll get it booked in then. Sounds like the sensor is goosed. Cheers for your help!

I had something similar with my XC90, though it was intermittent at first. Have you checked the sensor itself? I remember reading about a common issue with the oil level sensors on these.
