XC90 Power Steering Fault

I'm experiencing a fault with the power steering on my 2022 Volvo XC90 hybrid, with 52322 km on the clock. The steering wheel vibrates, and the handling feels spongy. The error memory logged a fault, and increased steering effort is required, suggesting a possible power steering failure. Are there any known issues?

I had a similar problem with my XC90. Vibrating steering wheel and spongy handling are definitely symptoms of a power steering issue. Have you checked the fluid level? Low fluid can sometimes cause these problems, though it sounds like you have an electrical fault as well.

My issue presented the same symptoms. After a while the car even stored the error. I fiddled with the connections but the error always came back. I was quite sure it was a defective steering rack, but the workshop identified a defective cable or plug connection. I suggest visiting a workshop.
