That's interesting! No unusual smells, and fuel consumption seems normal. What was the issue with your BMW? Any specific error codes or tests that pointed to the problem?

Turned out the cold start injector on the BMW was faulty, causing insufficient fuel delivery during those initial cold starts. No specific error codes showed up, but the mechanic ran some diagnostics on the fuel system and pinpointed it. Sounds like you might have the same problem. I'd recommend getting the fuel injectors checked.

Thanks a lot for the advice! My local mechanic confirmed that the cold start injector was defective and needed replacement. The total repair cost came out to 515€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue. Big thanks again!

I had a similar headache with my old BMW 3 Series. It also struggled terribly on cold starts, and the symptoms sound identical. Did you notice any specific smells or fuel consumption increase before it started?
