Xcent boost pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Hyundai Xcent diesel is experiencing power loss, poor response, and increased fuel consumption, accompanied by a whistling and hissing noise during acceleration. These symptoms suggest a potential boost pressure actuator fault, possibly due to a defective electrical bypass valve. It is advised to have the vehicle towed to a workshop for diagnosis and repair to prevent further damage, as confirmed by a workshop diagnosis.

Hissing seems to be from the turbo area. I haven't checked the hoses myself. Not mechanically inclined. No black smoke, though. Safe to drive to the workshop, or should I have it towed?

If it's hissing that loud and you're losing power, you're likely dumping boost somewhere. Driving it could damage the turbo. Since you're not comfortable checking the hoses, I'd recommend towing it to a trusted workshop for diagnosis. Sounds like the bypass valve and actuator may be defective.

Workshop confirmed a defective electrical bypass valve, boost pressure actuator fault. Repair cost 250€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds like a possible boost issue. Hissing sound coming from the turbo area? Checked for loose hoses or leaks around the intercooler piping? Any black smoke from the exhaust when you try to accelerate?
