Xcent engine misfire

My 2016 Hyundai Xcent, gasoline engine, with 192530 km has started throwing combustion misfire codes. Engine's running rough, check engine light's on, and it's jerking like crazy when accelerating. Power feels way down. Thinking it might be a dodgy fuel injector, but could it be something else? Fuel pump perhaps? Anyone had similar experiences?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Hyundai Xcent with a gasoline engine and 192,530 km is experiencing engine misfire issues, characterized by rough running, a check engine light, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion was a faulty fuel injector, though other potential causes like the fuel pump were considered. After ruling out ignition coils and spark plugs, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty fuel injector, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, although the symptoms weren't quite as pronounced. Check engine light, rough idle, and occasional jerking. Did you check the ignition coils? What about the spark plugs? They might be the culprit.

Ignition coils and spark plugs were actually the first things I checked – all seem to be in good shape. I even swapped them around to see if the misfire followed, but no luck. So, you reckon it still could be related? What was the eventual fix for your Astra?

Ah, so you've already been down that road! Fair enough. In my case, it ended up being a faulty fuel injector. The garage diagnosed it pretty quickly, but it wasn't cheap. I ended up paying around 450€ for the repair if I remember correctly. Considering you've already eliminated the ignition system, it might be worth getting the injectors properly tested. A compression test won't hurt either.

I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – faulty fuel injector! All in, the repair came to 515€. Runs like a dream now. Appreciate the help!
