Xcent engine stalling check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Hyundai Xcent diesel with 154,744 km is experiencing engine stalling at idle and a check engine light is on. The suspected cause is a leak in the fuel tank ventilation system, possibly due to a defective activated charcoal filter. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop to confirm the issue and perform necessary repairs.

Fuel efficiency might be slightly reduced, but I can't be certain. Did you also observe the check engine light and suspect the EVAP system?

Yes, the check engine light was the first sign, and my mechanic mentioned something about the EVAP system and leak detection. I'm not a car expert by any means, but it sounds like you should get it checked at a workshop. I think the cost was around 275€.

It seems like your experience validates my suspicion. I will schedule an appointment at a workshop to inspect the charcoal filter and the entire fuel tank ventilation system. The final repair bill was also 275€. I hope this resolves the issue.

Oh, that sounds frustrating! I have an Xcent too, and I had similar issues last year. The stalling was really annoying. Have you noticed any changes in your fuel efficiency lately?
