Xcent Temperature Readings and Check Engine Light
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Hyundai Xcent is experiencing erratic temperature readings, a check engine light, and slow engine warm-up. The issue may be linked to a blocked cooling grille or a defective coolant temperature sensor. A blocked grille could contribute, but a failing sensor is more likely. The problem was resolved by replacing a defective fuse related to the thermal management system.

Thanks! Where exactly is that sensor located, and is it easy to replace myself? Any idea if it could be related to the grille being blocked?

The sensor is usually located near the thermostat housing. While a blocked grille could contribute, the sensor failing is a more likely culprit. However, I would advise you to take your car to a workshop, if you are not experienced working on cars yourself.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! Turns out it was a defective fuse linked to the thermal management system, as you suggested. 52€ later and it's running great again!

I had a similar problem with my Hyundai i20. The ECU was throwing error codes related to thermal management. Check if you have a defective coolant temperature sensor.
