XRV Exhaust Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda XRV owner experienced a check engine light, reduced engine power, and increased fuel consumption, with diagnostics indicating a faulty exhaust temperature sensor. The owner suspected an exhaust leak as the cause. Another individual confirmed similar issues, which were resolved by identifying and fixing an exhaust leak near the sensor. The suggested solution was to have a mechanic inspect and repair the exhaust system, which successfully resolved the problem.

Interesting. Was it also due to a leak in the exhaust system? And what steps did you take to fix it?

I didn't find the leak myself but my local mechanic did find one in the exhaust system, close to the sensor. Honestly, I would just take it to a workshop and have them check the exhaust system.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. Turns out it was indeed a leak near the sensor, as you suspected. Got it fixed for 265€. Runs like new now.

I had similar issues with my XRV. Check Engine light plus weird fuel consumption. It was the temperature sensor alright.
