XRV Fog Sensor Issues
Summary of the thread
The 2022 Honda XRV is experiencing multiple issues, including a malfunctioning fog sensor, non-functional AC, frozen spray nozzles, and dead mirror heating. These problems may be interconnected, potentially stemming from a faulty fog sensor or related wiring issues. Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I had a look at the connector, but it seemed okay at first glance. Is there a specific way I should be testing it? Like, with a multimeter or something? I'm not sure which pins I should be checking or what values I should be seeing.

Alright, delving into multimeter readings might get complex without a proper wiring diagram specific to the XRV. However, considering the breadth of malfunctions, and your visual inspection seeming okay, there's a chance the issue lies deeper than a simple visual fix. Given the symptoms, and especially if you are seeing an error code, it might be best to get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but you're probably right. I guess I'll bite the bullet and get it checked out. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable at the sensor, which caused all those other errors. They quoted 95€, I’m happy it’s sorted now!

That does sound strange. Usually, the fog sensor primarily affects the auto climate control and defogging functions. But, given all those symptoms appearing at once, it's possible the sensor's failure is triggering a cascade of issues. Have you checked the wiring harness and connector to the sensor itself? A damaged or corroded connection could explain the widespread problems you're seeing.
